Platform work marks along the rule

Rule Mark · reading note

Platform-mediated earnings often appear in surveys as a job or as a self-employment category. Fees deducted at source, unpaid waiting, and equipment costs may or may not enter the same question. Rule Mark follows how instruments locate those flows on a staff rule rather than how a reader might schedule a week.

Fee ticks versus gross ticks

Some tax-file extracts and platform transparency reports publish fee schedules or average take rates. Household surveys rarely collect the same detail. A mark that treats platform receipts as gross income can sit far from a residual mark that subtracts fees. Notes on this desk keep those definitions adjacent.

Coverage and silence

Multi-apping, short spells, and informal side arrangements can fall outside a reference week. When an official series is silent on platform work, the silence is part of the reading—not a cue to invent a substitute number. Corrections: support@rulemark.online.
